The grid drops. The load never notices. · 0.5 – 2 MW · 400 V AC · static transfer in ≤ 10 ms
Every source.
One switch.
PULSE sits between the supply and your site. Grid and genset come in ahead of a thyristor static switch; the load, the battery and the solar sit on the bus behind it. When the grid fails, the switch opens in under half a cycle and the battery takes over the voltage. Sensitive loads ride through instead of resetting, and the site carries on on battery and sun.
Grid on QF3 and a genset on QF4, metered, ahead of the switch.
Anti-parallel thyristors in 600 kW modules open the grid.
Copper A · B · C · N behind the switch, 3W + N + PE.
Load, battery PCS and two PV feeders stay together on the island.
Pull the plug.
Watch the load.
At 50 Hz one cycle lasts 20 ms. PULSE hands the bus to the battery inside half of one. Run the fault and compare it with what most sites have today: a genset behind a changeover switch.
Illustrative waveforms, one phase at 50 Hz. PULSE times are the rated maximum per frame. The genset case is typical for a standby set: engine start plus changeover, about 10 s. The 20 ms marker is the zero-voltage ride-through on the ITIC curve that IT power supplies are designed to.
Open the doors.

Four modes.
One bus.
PULSE reads the grid, the genset and the load side at once: voltage, frequency, phase angle and harmonics. It moves the bus between sources and decides who sets the voltage. Pick a mode, or let it run.
On grid
Switch closed. The grid sets the voltage; the battery shaves peaks and the solar feeds the bus.

Simplified single-line, P500 · P1000. The P2000 has the same ports and single-line with frame breakers in place of the thyristor block. Dashed ring: the source that sets the voltage.
Closes back
in phase.
When the grid returns, PULSE does not slam it back in. The battery PCS steers the island onto the grid's voltage, frequency and phase angle, and the switch closes only when the two sides match. The load is not hit twice.

Five design decisions.
- 01
Half a cycle
Static switching moves the bus in ≤ 10 ms, half a 50 Hz cycle. Critical loads ride through.
- 02
Acts before the outage
Watches voltage, frequency and harmonics, and starts the transfer as the grid degrades, not after it is gone.
- 03
One cabinet, MW scale
Up to 2 MW through a single cabinet. One controller, one interlock chain, no stack of panels to coordinate.
- 04
Grid, genset, sun, storage
Two sources ahead of the switch; load, battery and PV behind it, metered port by port.
- 05
Bypass for service
A manual bypass feeds the load straight from the grid while the cabinet is isolated and worked on.
A grid-tied battery in.
Backup power out.
Put one PULSE between the supply and an A2000, and the site keeps running through an outage: battery and sun first, the genset when it is needed. The frame follows the battery power at the bus.
Frame rating covers the PCS and the load at the bus. PV max uses both PV ports. Pairing shown for A2000 systems; other batteries are sized per project.
