Battery storage for data centres & telecoms.

Uptime is the product. Storage adds a resilience layer between the UPS and the generators, cuts genset run hours and lowers the demand charge on a load that never sleeps.

01 · The problem

What the site
is up against.

Uptime

Every outage is a generator start

Each network event leans on the UPS and the gensets, with fuel, wear and start-up risk.

Load

A flat, high load

Constant load leaves less room for tariff arbitrage, so the value sits in resilience and the demand charge.

Growth

Capacity on the connection

New racks push demand towards the connection limit before the utility can upgrade it.

02 · What storage does

What the battery
does about it.

  1. 01
Resilience layerCarries the site through outages so gensets start less often and run for less time.
  2. 02
Demand ceilingHolds peak demand under the connection limit and defers a network upgrade.
  3. 03
Solar firmingTurns on-site PV into a steady contribution the site can plan around.
  4. 04
Peak shiftingMoves part of the load out of the most expensive windows.
03 · Typical configuration

Indicative,
before the load study.

Every configuration is sized from the site's own interval data and tariff; this is a starting point, not a quote.

04 · Questions

Asked by data centres & telecoms
buyers.

Does a battery replace our UPS?
No. The UPS protects the IT load over milliseconds; the battery plant sits upstream and carries the site for hours, so the generators start less often.
How fast does it take over?
With an integrated static transfer switch the plant moves to island mode in under 10 ms.
Is arbitrage worth it on a flat load?
Less than on a peaky load. For data centres the value is usually in resilience, demand charges and avoided diesel; the load study puts a number on each.
Next step

Start with your meter data.

Twelve months of interval data, your tariff schedule and your notified maximum demand are enough for a first sizing, an indicative capex and a PPA rate, within five working days, at no cost.
